Standard Action

At the behest of Anthony Spears (Nickelstarfilms on Chime.in- view his profile page at http://chime.in/user/Nickelstarfilms), I have decided to start reviewing web series' on The Review.

The first one that I will be reviewing is a lovely piece of work called Standard Action. For those of you out there who played Dungeons & Dragons at one point in time [or still do], you may recognize the term. That is because SA is all about an adventuring party who goes out and, what else, adventures. (If you haven't caught on already, it's like a Dungeons & Dragons show.)

Now you may think that because of the genre that it's only for those extremely nerdy of us (no offense intended). You. Thought. Wrong. SA is a great little series that everyone can appreciate. The camera work is great, the costumes are amazing and the acting is crazy good.

The first season (yes, there is a second season coming soon) is 13 episodes long and each one is better than the last. Each episode is short, about 10 minutes on average, but it leaves you wanting more every time. Without giving too much away, the plot centers on a party of 4 (an Elvish Barbarian, a Half-Halfling Bard, a Human Druid and a Human(?) Sorceress) as they try to rescue two members of the original adventuring party.

Now, the short run time per episode doesn't mean the show suffers. On the contrary, I believe that it gives it a sense of urgency that longer episodes might diminish somewhat. That's not to say I wouldn't mind if the episodes were a bit longer, but the length suits the series.

Standard Action Receives 10 Stars From The Review
In parting, if you haven't already, I suggest you take a look at Standard Action. You can watch the episodes on YouTube, Facebook, or on the Standard Action website. Probably the easiest way would be the SA website, so I'll leave that URL here→ http://watchstandardaction.com/

As always, if you have any suggestions for a review, let me know. I've seen plenty of views, but no comments yet. And if you don't want to comment, there is always the Book Review Poll in the right hand margin for you all. Thanks for reading.
