Plague Inc.

Can you take over the world? With a plague?

Welcome to Plague Inc., Kongregate veterans may know its predecessor Pandemic. Hours spent trying to capture the elusive Madagascar ring any bells?

Mobile game developer, Ndemic Creations, has brought Plague Inc. to Android in the last month, after having been only available on iOS since June of this year. For those newbies who never dared test the waters of Pandemic, allow me to explain some of how the game works.

You start out with 3 difficulties, Casual, Normal & Brutal. After selecting your difficulty level you choose the name of your disease, I usually go for comical names seeing farty monkeys take over the world is much better than Pax-12(default name). You can then add various genes to boost aspects of your disease, what regions get infected easier, boosts on infecting more people or more countries, etc. After the initial set up it takes you to the world map, it is now your job to infect the 58 countries the game gives you, with various populations per country.

Under the Disease menu you will see the info, way it transmits, symptoms and abilities of the disease. Under the world menu you'll see the population count, various graphs, and the status of the cure(How the world fights against your disease). There is some in game DLC for purchase, as well as purchasing the full game to unlock ff capability and remove the ads.

Plague Inc. gets a thrilling 8½ stars

While the originality of the game is fairly unique, and the attention to detail is quite impressive. And the way they have the DLC set up is very well done, the replayibility leaves something to be desired, although there is quite a bit as you can play with different options of transmitting, symptoms and abilities of each of the original 7 choices of diseases and 3 more to unlock after beating the game. If you want to try this game out for yourself, you can get it from the Play Store as well as through iTunes.
