Tucker & Dale vs. Evil

Evil Just Messed With The Wrong Hillbillies.

I first came across this gem while looking for movies that Alan Tudyk was in (as he played one of my favorite characters in the greatest show pulled before it's time, Firefly). While initially skeptical about it, I decided to watch it (streaming on Netflix by the way). I was blown away and soon gave way to fits of laughter.

While it is classified as a horror movie, it fits the comedy genre quite well.  I guess in all honesty, it fits in the same genre as the Scream movies. It was scary, gory, and funny all at once. For those of you with weak stomachs, don't worry; I have the weakest stomach in the world and none of the gore in this awesome movie affected me in the slightest.

Tucker & Dale is a great parody movie, with references to movies such as Texas Chainsaw Massacre and the Evil Dead series. And just because it's a parody, doesn't mean that the acting suffers. Alan Tudyk and Tyler Labine are hilarious as the lovable misunderstood rednecks.

I don't want to give too much of the plot away, but Tucker & Dale shows how one small misunderstanding can snowball until the whole thing is a convoluted mess. If you haven't seen it already, I strongly recommend it. You can do like me and watch it on Netflix (shameless free advertising for them), or I'm sure it can be found on TV somewhere.
