Experience the adventures of Woody and Buzz or shape your own with the open-ended wonder of a virtual toy box in this game based on the third Toy Story movie. When Andy heads to college, Woody, Buzz, and the rest of the toys are headed to a new home in a day care center. Play through what you see in the movie in Story Mode, or open up Toy Box Mode and play however you want. Play with dinosaurs, cowboys, space rangers, and more as you make your own magic using your creativity and Andy's amazing toy box.
Let me start off by saying this game is fun! I rented it from GameFly (which is amazing as well, by the way), and I was hooked as soon as I started playing it. TS3 has two game modes, Story Mode and Toy Box Mode.
I'll start off with Toy Box Mode, as it was the first one I tried out. Toy Box Mode, or Woody's Roundup as it's called in game, puts you in a huge sandbox, where you can essentially do anything you want. You can play as Woody, Buzz, Jesse, or Zurg (PS3 Exclusive) and do missions for the inhabitants of Woody's Roundup. If you aren't into running missions, there are some mini games that you can play as well. The one downside to this is that to unlock buildings and certain items for the mini games, you will need to run missions.
Another cool thing about the sandbox mode is that 2 people can play at once (Story Mode is strictly 1 player). I know, you all are thinking, big deal, a 2 player game, so what? Well, 2 people can play at once, but they don't necessarily have to be doing the same thing, much less in the same area of the toy box. One person could be decorating a building in town while the other could be racing around in a car on the stunt track.
While this is cool, it brings up a bit of a problem. Loading times. If the two people get too far away from each other, the game will pause and say it's loading. This wouldn't be an issue, but the loading times are ridiculously long and they happen way too often for my taste. Sometimes, they will pop up less than 5 seconds apart. Even in the story mode, the loading times are pretty long.
As far as Story Mode goes, it follows the story pretty well. In addition to that, it also shows us some things that we didn't get the chance to see in the movie, such as how the toys got the cordless phone to Andy's room. Another fun thing that I wasn't expecting in the Story Mode was the chance to play the Buzz Lightyear game from the second movie.

While the loading times leave a lot to be desired, I still think this is a fun game that everyone should try out at least once. I know that I will probably be buying it in the future.
