The Adventure Continues
What Matica had dreamed of ever since she first befriended the condors, actually had happened in the last chapter of the previous book, Talon, come fly with me. Matica flew out of the hut when Talon became frightened after a spark of the open fireplace nearly hit him. Matica was anxious because she didn't know how she could climb and lay on Talon the next day to fly with him. But Talon made it easy and showed her the way.
Finally accepting Matica into their community with that incredible event, the Indians loved seeing her flying on Talon and she has to tell every flying event in class. Only her mother wasn't very impressed. She was afraid of her daughter. She could fall. But after showing her how safe she was laying on Talon, so small and looking like a blimp on big Talon, her mother gave her the go ahead.
Matica is so happy that she is small and didn't want to have it any differently. She was accepted, she was loved, she could fly on Talon. What more could she have? All her rejection and hardship was over. The Indians promised Matica that they would always protect the condors from any poachers, if they ever would return.
In this book she has scores of incredible adventures and near disasters with Talon; also a
love between Amos and her develops.
As the second book in +Gigi Sedlmayer's Talon series, On the Wing continues the story set forth in Come Fly With Me. Matica has finally been accepted into the Indian's community, and she got something she always wanted: to fly on Talon's back.
Much of what I said about the previous book applies to this one as well. It is still an uplifting tale, and the short chapters make it easy to just pick it up and read a few chapters at a time. You can't do that with too many books these days. Granted, the English is still a bit strange to me, but it is understandable.
On the Wing continues the great storytelling set forth in it's prequel. It is because of this that the book gets a 9½ star rating. Her English may not be the greatest, but Mrs. Sedlmayer sure knows how to write a book. It's inspirational, it's emotional, and I highly recommend it to everyone. Just like the previous book, this one can be purchased from both Amazon and Barnes & Noble, in both physical copies as well as Kindle and Nook formats.
